Troy
Prichard is a fourth generation New Mexican. Raised primarily in Las
Cruces, he attended New Mexico State University where he graduated
with honors with a bachelor's degree in Economics/Agriculture
Business Management. After serving as Vice-President of Commercial
Lending at Texas Commerce Bank in El Paso for several years, he attended
the University of New Mexico Law School where he earned his Juris
Doctorate degree, also with various honors.
In the first years following graduation from law school, Troy
worked for firms in the areas of collections, bankruptcy, and
civil litigation. In 1993 he opened his own practice and expanded
into the areas of criminal defense, child abuse and neglect,
domestic relations, personal injury, mediation and general trial
work. Troy is most comfortable in the courtroom and enjoys all
types of trial work, jury and non-jury, state and federal. He
also accepts state and federal appointments on criminal cases.
Though he no longer accepts court-appointed child abuse and
neglect matters, he does handle privately retained cases throughout
the state of New Mexico and in other states.
Troy has four children and he is very active in his
community, politics, church, and his children’s activities.
Troy serves on numerous boards to promote educational and community
improvements. He also speaks Spanish.
Troy has made personal appearances on Good Morning America,
The Today Show, The View, MSNBC, Court TV, and several local
and national radio shows. Troy enjoys public speaking and has
received numerous awards. He has served as lecturer on various
seminar topics, including child abuse and neglect and handling
